With his signature blend of tradition and swing, this performance promises to be a celebration of the guitar’s rich jazz legacy. Guitarist Jackson Evans is a dynamic force in the Low Country jazz scene, known for his infectious energy, rhythmic drive, and deep love for the jazz tradition. Whether fronting his own trio, collaborating with bassist and vocalist Maggie Evans, or joining forces with groups like the Jody Espina Trio, the Martin Lesch Band, and the gypsy-honkytonk sensation Velvet Caravan, Jackson’s playing always brings a fresh, spirited edge to the stage. Originally from Logan, Utah, Jackson holds a Bachelor of Music from Utah State University. In 2004, he and Maggie made the leap to Savannah, Georgia, quickly becoming cornerstones of the region’s vibrant jazz community. Their international reputation was cemented with back-to-back residencies at top venues in Hangzhou, China, including a six-month stint at the prestigious JZ Club. Beyond the stage, Jackson is a passionate educator and mentor. He maintains a private teaching studio, has presented at the Jazz Education Network Conference in New Orleans, and plays a vital role at the Hilton Head Jazz Camp. He also serves on the board of directors for the Junior Jazz Foundation and wears many hats at Benedetto Guitars as Customer Relations Manager, Sales Manager, and Marketing Director. Whether honoring jazz guitar icons, nurturing young talent, or lighting up world-wide stages, Jackson Evans continues to make his mark as a fearless ambassador for jazz guitar.
