Vocalist Brittany Turnipseed — Columbia, SC's own "Southern Songbird" and an Apollo Theater Amateur Night champion who's opened for Melba Moore, Eric Roberson, and The Isley Brothers — steps into that legacy November 6–7. She's joined by trumpeter Mark Rapp, South Carolina's Jazz Ambassador and 2025 Jazz Journalists Association Jazz Hero, whose horn has sounded off at the Blue Note and the Newport Jazz Festival, and the Rod Foster & Co. band who has backed some the biggest names in smooth jazz and R&B. One songbird, honoring another. Standards, swing, and a whole lot of groove.
